I'm a veteran of community forums for these types of games, and I thought I'd offer my advice on how to keep the community happy and engaged.
But first... what did you do to Lian [Jago Studios]? Lian, if you can read this, send us a message to let us know you are okay and they are feeding you.
Let's dive in.
Tip #1: Communication.
Aaron (GPK Producer) has been doing a pretty good job at this so far. But, any hints as to timelines and what's on the roadmap would be welcome and may mitigate some of the anger I'm seeing over the Arena progress and bugs. I know it's tough to give specifics at times, but hiding everything tends to also backfire.
I've seen other games do things like this:
NOTE: This is just a sample, I do not have insider info, I just want to see something like this show up in the future, so we have things to look forward to.
And that's it for my tips. Basically, the more you can tell us, the better. And if there is a new card coming, posting the stats ahead of time is a cool way to debut it—Galaxy of Heroes does this with animated GIFs. DC Legends will post a Mystery photo with the outlines of the new characters on Twitter and asks players to guess. Marvel Strike Force will send out an email with the new character and their abilities. Any one or even a combo of these things will work.
Thanks for your hard work,
