Completely agree glad I got out a month ago. They are aware of what needed to be done to save this game and disregarded it. Even if they would have dropped a timeline might have kept people interested. Hopefully they will learn something from this but currently Jago studios will be on my avoid list for future games.

It’s mind-boggling. I’ve worked in dev, and all I can say is that either the code for the game is utter trash and so poorly written that it makes updates take forever, or the devs aren’t actually spending any time on this game at all.

If I was a betting man, I’d say the latter. I’m guessing it’s outsourced overseas and this is just one of many projects. And I’m guessing they’re paid for a limited number of hours. Because none of this stuff should have taken this long if even one dude or dudette was putting in 40 hrs a week on this.

Any logical programmer would write the code such that the item location can be swapped without needing a client update. Same with any costs/values. Same with store rewards. They should be EASY to change. Possibly should be the easiest because it’s a great way to increase profits! But nope! Everything takes months. WE are the only QA for the game somehow! And how about events?! I could keep going but what’s the point?

Let the game die please or put actual resources into fixing it. But really, let it die and hopefully a publisher who can actually handle the dev process and can scale a game appropriately to their dev capabilities will buy the IP rights.

GPK is too good of an IP for this monstrosity.

Any of you play SWGOH?  There are several in our SWGOH guild who started playing GPK, and most of the fun for us is unlocking characters, and finding out which SWGOH they are an exact copy of.  We keep a list.  We've collectively unlocked half the GPK characters, and so far, all but 1 are an exact copy of SWGOH characters.

The programming for GPK is merely a reskin of the launch version of SWGOH.  Not a heavily borrowed version, but a complete copy.  It's pretty funny to us in our guild how identical they are, and it's mostly what keeps us playing.

Hah. Never played it. Good to know it’s not just poorly done but also unoriginal and stolen from other Developers. GG Jago

No wonder they can’t fix anything. They stole or bought the code and did t bother to learn how to work it.

Meowbacca, I play that game and would love to see your list. I've also noticed quite a few similarities.

Wow..they aren’t kidding it’s not just close they are a exact copy. No wonder they can’t fix anything they just ripped it off . I can’t imagine this game can last very long now, Really doubtful they were given permission for this.

Everyone calm down now. Every game borrows from other games. GoHs isn’t original either and GPK isn’t the only game to copy it. DC Legends and Marvel Strike Force did too. Although MSF has a lot of original stuff as well, it also has a LOT wrong with it. DCL is even worse. If this game continues to grow, I’m sure they’ll add stuff to differentiate it from the rest and hopefully not add a lot that angers players -cough-red stars-cough-.

Yeah, games heavily borrow from others within their genre.  One of the lead guys for Jago help launch SWGOH, so that's why this game strongly resembles the launch version of that game, even down to the character kits.

Still, this is a cool IP and it would be cool to see this game evolve and grow into something cool with guilds etc.  Lots of potential with GPK, but sounds like the team is pretty small.

Sorry there is a huge difference legally between borrowing ideas within genre and copying something word for word. I’m actually shocked something hasn’t already come of this. If this game still exists in a few weeks I would assume they have permission if not there is no way Disney/whoever they licensed it out to will be alright with it, those guys don’t mess around when it come to their properties.

What's odd is that if you have played GOH, it only takes a few minutes after opening the game for the first time to see how identical the games are:

    • Free gear packs every 15 minutes up to 5 times daily (GPK is bugged on this one to allow more)
    • 330 total shards to max characters, with star increases at the same shard intervals
    • Gem prices are basically identical
    • the Nut and Dolt packs are identical to packs sold in GOH- 699 gems for 10-330 shards of a character
    • the 1299 packs are identical as well
    • regular energy regenerating once every 6 minutes and Calamity energy refreshing once every 12 minutes is identical
    • Energy purchase rates are the same (50 crystals for normal and 100 for Calamity)
    • Character shard prices from shops are identical (5 shards for 400 currency)
    • Gem prices for character shards are identical as well (4 shards for 320 gems)
    • As mentioned already, every character is essentially a word for word copy of the launch version of a GOH character

There's more, but it really is striking how identical these games are.  All that said... GOH is in a bit of a content lull right now, and EA seems to be pulling resources out of that game.  GPK has been fun for many in our guild.  We figured out how OP the baby and Cactus were and it was fun hitting 500 in arena sometimes with our level 50 squads.  It's filled our mobile gaming fix at the same time GOH is doing less and less for players.

I agree with 100% of this, especially the bolded. I'm growing tired of GoH, but I run a full Guild and would feel bad completely abandoning it. Plus, I'm still deriving some fun from it. This game is refreshing and it was easy to find the glitches/bugs, similarities, best cards, best strats, etc because of how similar it is to GoH. Plus, I got in on the ground floor and can watch this game grow (hopefully it does) and I feel like GoH has left many players behind. Also, I feel like that game will run dry after The Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker content runs dry and will need a game to fall back on. Please be GPK. Please be GPK. Please be GPK. Don't let me down, Jago.

I think Frigid Bridgette is Barriss Offee.

    Fryin Ryan = Kylo Ren.

Just going off the basic abilities alone. Some of the generic basics are a little harder to find, plus with the amount of reworks that have taken place some characters in the game are very different than how they looked at launch.

    Frigit Brigit- Barriss Offee

    Weird Wendy- Old Daka

    Dead Ted- ??

Rock E Horror- Jedi Knight Anakin

    Charlotte Web- ??

    Ritchie Retch- Hoth Rebel Soldier

Fryin Bryan- Maybe First Order Tie Pilot (hard to say with character reworks and only the basic)

    Vile Kyle- Farmboy Luke

    One Eyed Jack- Magnaguard (pre-rework)

    Acne Amy- Princess Leia

    Fryin Ryan- Kylo Ren

    Buggy Betty- ??

    Sewer Sue- ??

    Mean Gene- Darth Maul

    Frank N Stein-
